A Memory

A memory
So vivid in the beginning
It felt real

Fading

The details
Sharp once
Inducing physical reactions
Are worn down
Soft and dull

This memory
Once so powerful
Now barely alive
Its pulse, weaker and weaker
As the days grow into years

The fog is setting in
Clouding the moments
That were once so clear

The decaying
Eating away the edges
Only a fragment remains
A small reminder
That something
Was once here

Something
